His popular Charlie Chan titles include The Chinese Parrot (1926) and Keeper of the Keys (1932). Earl Derr Biggers was born on August 26, 1884 in Ohio. His 1913 novel, Seven Keys to Baldpate, was made into a film by George M. Cohan. He studied at Harvard University. Following his 1907 graduation, he worked as a journalist for The Plain Dealer.
